Luteal Phase Meditation: Self-Compassion, Slowing Down, and Emotional Support Shamelessly Ambitious Podcast — [Bonus Episode 183]

This bonus episode is another meditation from Her Rhythms, a program inside The Regulated Woman that teaches you how to use your cycle as a blueprint for your energy, capacity, and nervous system support.

If you’re moving through the full cycle series, you can explore each phase here:

And now, we arrive at the luteal phase.

Understanding the Luteal Phase

The luteal phase is often where things begin to feel… different.

Energy may start to dip.
Emotions may feel heightened.
Patience may feel thinner.

You might notice:

  • Increased sensitivity
  • Emotional fluctuations
  • A desire to withdraw or slow down
  • A sense of overwhelm or pressure

And while this phase can feel challenging, it is not working against you.

It is guiding you inward.

What the Luteal Phase Is Inviting You Into

This phase is not about pushing harder.

It is about:

  • Slowing down
  • Listening more deeply
  • Honoring your emotional landscape
  • Practicing self-compassion

Your body is asking for care, not correction.

And this meditation is designed to support you in exactly that.

What This Luteal Phase Meditation Supports

In this guided meditation, you are invited to:

  • Release pressure to be productive
  • Regulate your nervous system through breath
  • Allow and process a range of emotions without judgment
  • Connect with self-compassion and acceptance
  • Anchor into rest as a powerful and necessary practice

Rather than resisting what you feel, this meditation helps you create safety within it.

Emotions Are Not the Problem

One of the most important reminders in this phase:

Your emotions are not happening to you.
They are happening for you.

They are signals.
They are messengers.
They are invitations.

When you stop judging what you feel, you create space for clarity, insight, and healing.

Luteal Phase Affirmations

During this meditation, you are guided to repeat:

I give myself permission to slow down.
I honor my body’s rhythm and needs.
I embrace each part of my cycle with compassion and love.

And later:

I am enough just as I am.
I honor my body’s wisdom and rhythm.
I trust in the power of rest and reflection.

These are not just affirmations.

They are permission slips.

The Power of Self-Compassion in This Phase

In the luteal phase, your nervous system benefits from gentleness.

This meditation includes a visualization of a warm, comforting light surrounding your body — representing unconditional love, acceptance, and support.

This is your reminder:

You do not need to fix yourself.
You do not need to push through.
You do not need to override your body.

You are allowed to soften.

Returning to This Meditation

You can come back to this meditation anytime during your luteal phase when you feel:

  • Overwhelmed
  • Emotionally heightened
  • Disconnected from yourself
  • Pressured to keep going

This is your space to pause, reconnect, and receive.

Because rest is not weakness.

It is wisdom.

xx, Ash

MEET your shit-talking host

Hey, I’m Ash — and I’m the Entrepreneur’s Therapist.

And this podcast is the one to binge so you can finally do that.

That’s a title I’ve earned by building multiple 6-figure businesses while raising multiple babies after earning multiple degrees in my craft as a trained and expert therapist.

No shade to all the “help you through your burnout” podcasts where the hosts actually don’t have training and tell you “just do less!” — wait, scratch that… actually ALL THE SHADE to them because that advice? For a woman like you? Fuck that.

As shamelessly ambitious women, we don’t want less. We want to find contentment in the chaos. We want to feel good as we do all the things we care about and love pouring into.
