If you’ve been paying any attention at all, you would know that doors to the Above the Standard Collective are open right now, and they close tomorrow. Yes, tomorrow! It’s incredible to see the amazing women joining, the growth happening in DMs, and the progress current members are making. The excitement and transformation are palpable, and I’m so grateful for it all.
So, this is my not-so-subtle reminder: the doors close tomorrow and won’t reopen until 2025. This is your last chance to join this year if you feel called to be part of this amazing space.
In light of this, I thought today’s episode should focus on the healing work I’ve been doing on myself over the past year. What are we at? Six or eight months or so. I’ve mentioned some of this on the podcast, but I’ve been focusing on some significant things this summer, and they’ve made a world of difference in my healing journey.
First, let’s talk about the healing journey itself. I often discuss this with my clients because many of us enter the healing space thinking we’ll reach a point where we’re “done” healing. We expect to check a box and feel amazing forever. The good news is that those amazing things do happen when you prioritize inner healing. They can happen right now, and I’ll delve into that more in a moment.
However, the not-so-great news is that healing is a forever journey. Even with all my experience as a therapist and my credentials, I am constantly uncovering new layers of myself that need healing. But I see these as opportunities to go deeper and unlock more inner calmness and manifestation.
I’ve been putting a massive emphasis on inner child healing. About two years ago, I had a strong feeling that something intense, possibly traumatic, had happened in my life that I wasn’t remembering. This feeling led me on a two-year journey, involving everything from therapeutic modalities to spiritual mentorship, Reiki sessions, past life regression, soul retrievals, ayahuasca ceremonies, and more.
At the beginning of this year, I uncovered the root of this pain. It happened when I was around 12 or 13 years old. Since discovering it, I’ve been digging into the details, journaling, processing, and moving through it. The work wasn’t about who I am now but about that younger version of me. I needed to spend time with her.
My entire summer has been dedicated to inner child work. One key practice is to imagine myself as that younger version and give her what she needed then. I sit in a quiet place, recall a difficult moment from my childhood, and imagine what would have been comforting and safe for me in that moment. This is reparenting—showing up for that younger version of myself and giving her love and safety.
I’ve also explored activities I might have missed out on or needed more time in, like dancing, exploring the woods, painting, riding my bike, and drawing. I’ve been intentional about bringing these activities to life and thinking of my inner child while doing them. This has been incredibly healing.
Another critical aspect of my healing work is nervous system regulation. Dysregulation often signals that something is wrong, and it’s crucial not to ignore or push through it. I practice grounding by going outside first thing in the morning, co-regulating with my husband, and avoiding things that dysregulate me, like caffeine and excessive alcohol. Moving my body also helps me stay grounded.
This healing work is a significant reason why I created the Above the Standard Collective. It’s a space where we can prioritize healing, share the behind-the-scenes of someone with a therapeutic background, and coach ourselves through inner wounds.
In August, we’ll focus on Her Belonging — belonging to ourselves, others, and cultivating a culture of belonging. September’s intensive is Her Reclamation, centered on taking back control and stepping into personal power. October’s intensive, Her Amplified, will focus on reparenting old narratives and energy work.
We also have Fireside Chats, book clubs, happy hours, Christmas parties, and more. This space is about healing, community, and creating the life of your wildest dreams.
Doors close tomorrow, so if you feel called to join, don’t miss this opportunity. I hope to serve you, nurture you, and help you create an amazing life. Join the ATS Collective below! I’ll see you inside, lovey!
xoxo, Ash
